From J. Phillip King, P.E., Ph.D., M.B.A., Director:
New Mexico AMP invites you and your LSAMP students to our New Mexico Alliance for Minority Participation (NM AMP) 2020 Virtual Student Research Conference on October 9, 2020 from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
The conference will bring together students and faculty from the state’s public community
colleges and universities as well as high school students and teachers from the New Mexico Math, Engineering, Science Achievement, Inc. (NM MESA) program, the TRIO Upward Bound Program, and the NSF ReNUWIt Young Scholars program. Several NSF Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) programs across the country and industry partners are also invited.
As an annual event, our conference focuses on providing the motivation and tools for students to set and achieve personal, academic, and professional goals. During the day, we will showcase student research activities through poster presentations of research projects conducted during the past year. We will also offer engaging workshops that will promote professional development and progression to graduate school. In addition, the virtual event will allow for our Advisory Board as well as our Institutional Coordinators from our partner institutions to meet virtually.
The conference offers students the opportunity to network with other students, and, perhaps more importantly, to meet and learn from successful role models. We are looking forward to an exciting and productive conference, and we sincerely hope you will be an important part of making it a success by your attendance virtually. Please register soon for the Virtual NM AMP Student Research Conference.
